Practical random number generation protocol for entanglement-based quantum key distribution

چکیده
A simple protocol which takes advantage of the inherent random times of detections in single photon counting modules is presented for random active basis choices when using entanglement-based protocols for Quantum Key Distribution (QKD). It may also be applicable to the BB84 protocol in certain cases. The scheme presented uses the single photon detectors already present on a QKD setup, working on the same rate as the system is capable of detecting, and is, therefore, not limited by the output rates of quantum random number generators. This protocol only requires small hardware modifications making it an attractive solution. We perform a proof-of-principle experiment employing a spontaneous parametric down-conversion process in a χ non-linear crystal to demonstrate the feasibility of our scheme, and show that the generated sequence passes randomness tests.

Random Photon Key Pasting (RPKP) for Secure Optical Data Transport in Quantum Key Distribution
In this paper we proposed a new mutually authenticated method, ie Random Photon Key Pasting (RPKP) for secure data transmission which is already running under Quantum key distribution. RPKP is method which is trying to paste randomly generated number to the private key as log form and invoked from a trusted third party. The random numb will be completely based on the System level and it is high...

We propose a quantum key distribution (QKD) protocol that enables three parties agree at once on a shared common random bit string in presence of an eavesdropper without use of entanglement. We prove its unconditional security and analyze the key rate.

We present a security analysis against collective attacks for a time-energy entanglement-based quantum key distribution protocol, given the practical constraints of single photon detector efficiency, channel loss, and finite-key considerations. We find a positive secure-key capacity when the key length increases beyond 104 for eight-dimensional systems. The minimum key length required is reduce...
متن کاملImproving efficiency of quantum key distribution with probabilistic measurements
The first part of this paper presents two efficient cryptographic protocols, based on quantum entanglement, for secure exchange of secret keys. While the first protocol requires storage of entangled qubits, the second protocol has no storage requirements and presents a probabilistic model. We show that there is a tradeoff between security against eavesdropping and the efficiency of the protocol...
